In the year 2006 the Latin American artist Esperanza Mayobre paid off the debt of all the countries of the third world.  The artist concentrated all her efforts on this project, working in conjunction with the World Bank, IMF, UNCTAD, Cepal and SELA.

Since the glorious day of February 2nd, 2006, when the transaction occurred, the third world countries in homage, immortalized her image in their actual currency.
