The body is the warehouse of the soul.
My recent photographs and videos deal
with my body as reminder of the delicate
nature of self-image. As a white-male,
I carry with me a negative image of
historical dominance in western culture.
With role-playing as a key element in my
work, I want to portray an image in which
I do not fit the stereotype of the majority,
but rather subject myself to a variety of
stereotypes that transcend the white-male
construct. By acting out roles of sensitivity
and physical vulnerability, the work alludes
to a possible solution to the stereotype:
a solution of an enlightened universal self.
