Laura Greengold The meaning of art has changed; its authority lost. Now, there exists a language of images. What matters is the development of this language. My paintings tell a story of re-creation, value and beauty. These paintings are derived from television. The series has explored hierarchy verses heterarchy, idol worship, and the pervasive pixel. The imprecision of these paintings is an advantage; they should not be any more understandable than their source material, reminiscent of cultural lessons half- learnt. |
